Gas Station Experiences
I want to start a thread about sharing gas station experiences that may be unforgettable or simply remarkable. The aim is to warn other users so that they will avoid the same experience or share a good thing to let others experience the same. Soon gas station owners might be browsing our forum so this must serve also as a warning/feedback to make them improve their service.
If a particular station or gas brand would have so many complains here, then we could have a louder voice to elevate our complain to the proper authorities.
Please identify the exact location/name of the gas station so as not to mislead users. If possible, identify the gas boy/personnel involved, if any.
All of the four unforgettable experiences I have happened to be bad ones.
The first happened several years ago at Shell EDSA-Bansalangin (Proj. 7, QC), south bound. I was in a hurry so instead of filling up full tank, I just filled up P1000, to avoid waiting for change. I told the gas boy to put 1000 and gave him the money. After inserting the nozzle into my tank, the gas boy left but immediately another gas boy replace him holding the nozzle. The pump stopped automatically. Before the cover of the tank was replaced I noticed that the pump registered only 900, so I complained. The explanation the gas boy gave me was that they have to do the loading in two installments, 900 plus 100, which I could not understand why. From then on, I never gas up in that station again.
Another experience I can't forget happened at Shell EDSA-Balintawak, north bound. I was on my way to office one morning at exactly 6:00 AM when I had to wait at the gas station for more than 10 minutes and the vehicles in the station were forming long queues already and I could not leave. I asked the gas boy why. His answer was that we had to wait because the cashier is being replaced and the pumps must all be stopped. I avoid filling up in that station when it's near six in the morning.
The third one was less than a year ago and this involved a new Petron one block from EDSA, on the one way street going towards C3. This is a persistent "habit" of the station. It had been my favorite station since they opened until one day when all gas stations marked down the prices of their products as announced, this station retained their old high prices. When I asked the manager why they did not adjust their price, he said the person in-charge to make the adjustment has not arrived yet. I noticed that everytime the prices of gas go down, they delay the adjustment by one or two days but when the prices go up, they adjust the prices immediately. I also never patronized that station from then on.
The last one was very recent. It was just a few days ago, three days after the prices of gas went down by 1.50. The warning light of my tank went on so I had to fill up the first station that I saw. While the gas boy was loading E10, I noticed that the price indicated in the pump was P41.60, when the price of my last filling in another station was only 37.75 before the mark down! I checked in their sign that the price was really 41.60 for E10 unleaded. That was not really the big problem. The problem was that my 500 did not even reach the first quarter line in my gauge. I felt that besides overpricing, their pump is improperly calibrated because my tank warning light lit up again just after 2 days when I used to consume 500 in 3 to 4 days with exactly the same route, though may not the same traffic situation. It was a Shell station on Abad Santos, before reaching Solis, north bound.

Can we use this thread to post good experiences, too?
I don't know where to post this, short of starting a new thread. This really has something to do with fuel prices which I would like to share with fellow motorists.
The Total Greenhills Station along Ortigas Ave., near the corner or Santolan has, I think, the lowest price of E10 I have seen anywhere. This, plus the fact that they have an ongoing promo of a rebate of .50 centavos for every liter bought for vehicles with their Total sticker (the sticker is free), including credit card purchases. The rebate used to apply to all fuels. The last time I went there, July 12, I was told that the rebate was temporarily suspended for diesel but still applies to all other fuel (which was just fine with me).
The gasoline boys & the person behind the counter are courteous & friendly. My only gripe is their credit card POS (the machine they use to swipe your card) is temperamental & they can't seem to get a decent POS from the bank. Other than this, you can't beat the low prices, the rebate & you get to pay it with your credit card to boot.
P.S.
I'm just an ordinary motorist & I'm not an employee of Total nor do I have relatives working there. Neither do I run that particular station, though I wouldn't mind owning it, hehehe.

I may have committed a boo-boo somewhere, nag-double post & I can't delete the 2nd one. Neither can I delete the computer language at the start of my message.
Kahit good or bad experience post po natin. Para ma praise yung mga ok na stations and maboljak naman yung mga pasaway. Pero maybe next time kpag madami na posts we could make a thumbs up and thumbs down thread pra dedicated. Sir kuripot maybe you can add the station to the map and add the prices the next time you pass by or gas up there.
Sir Itchigo, the Total Station along Ortigas is already on the map. I'll take note of the prices when I go there next time & post it here.
I like your suggestion of the thumbs up or thumbs down on the posts.
sir kuripot, there is a station indicated by google map but there isnt any marker. maybe you can add the marker next tym with the prices
Oh, sorry sir. I'm not too much of a techie. How do I put the marker? Ok lang ba if I post the prices in this thread na lang?
sir madali lang po maglagay ng marker. you can check out the how to as a guide. or you can just put the station prices and details and i will be the one to put the marker later. its better to put the price info on the map kesa d2 sa thread since the data will be easier to browse and access
That's interesting to note. Yes, please include the prices. So far, the lowest I've encountered is the P33.20 price of e10 at the Caltex station on Edsa cor. Boni (southbound). For diesel, it's P26 at the Caltex station on E. Rodriguez, near the Quezon City Sports Club, according to Janan in his comment on my blog, servedbycairo.blogspot.com. Incidentally, I was told that Caltex Edsa cor. Boni is no longer offering a separate Silver product; only the e10 unleaded is available.
my father in law drove off from a vermont gas station with the pump still pumping gas in his bmw suv. he had to pay a lot of money to get the station ground cleaned up after the mistake.

nice topic sir. buena mano kyo sa forum na gumawa ng thread na hindi kami ang nagstart hehe. we were thinking of adding these feedback and comments directly sa station markers pero hindi pa sa ngayon so d2 na muna pansamantagal.
eto gripe ko
would these station owners please keep their cr's clean. jeez hanep yung state nung mga toilets sa mga karaniwang stations. many would rather risk getting UTI than use those poor excuses for toilets. please have your attendants clean them regularly and make sure they have clean running water, soap and driers. yun lang po. bow
